Team Green Hawaii is comprised of five students enrolled in Dr. Catherine Becker's Sustainability: Communication & Culture course at University of Hawaii, Hilo.  The group was randomly selected and instantly found commonalities amongst each other.  The group led by Mika Mulkey brainstormed ideas about service projects, presentations and related material directly linked to the topic of Sustainability, a term the newer generation is hearing more and more buzz about, especially here in the Islands of Hawaii.

 

In today’s technological era, the group felt a strong need for a blog specifically related to sustainability because of its vital ability to raise awareness on living a sustainable lifestyle. Studies are showing how young adults are turning to blogs as their source for news information over traditional mainstream media (Seitz, 2008).
